Creative Learning Centers

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the lockdown prevented children in villages from attending school, resulting in a loss of normal course learning opportunities. Although the government offered alternative modes of education, such as online classes through television channels like Saptagiri, many children in villages did not have access to the necessary technology.

To address this issue, ROPES partnered with Children Believe to establish 32 Creative Learning Centers (CLCs) in 32 villages during the pandemic. ROPES provided laptops and introduced a virtual learning platform, allowing children to attend online classes through the Creative Learning Centers. Each village has a Creative Learning Center facilitator to assist with the classes.

The Creative Learning Centers use Science and Maths kits to facilitate creative and interactive learning for children from Grade 1 to Grade 5. These kits help children learn the basic concepts outlined in their textbooks. A total of 1106 school-going children (518 boys and 588 girls) have greatly benefited from the Creative Learning Center interventions provided by ROPES. Through this effort many children have improved their learning levels and cognitive skills, excelling in their academic pursuits. Without this intervention, the learning loss resulting from the pandemic could have been a significant obstacle for many children in their academic journeys.
